Cascadia is a go-anywhere, expedition-style catamaran. She accommodates up to 24 guests in 12 luxurious cabins, with a crew of 10.
She is unlike any other vessel offering expeditions on the BC coast, having been built specifically for high-quality, boutique cruises. Light, spacious and comfortable, she is also capable of reaching the wildest, most naturally rich places on the coast.
Her small size and guest numbers provide an authentic, human-scale experience that respects the carrying capacity of coastal inlets and communities.

Cascadia’s bridge is open to you. You’ll have 180-degree views from here, along with being able to learn about navigation and the vessel systems.
Top Deck & Hot Tub
Lounge on a chaise, soak under the stars, or enjoy the bird’s eye view of the ship and the world around her from Cascadia’s new top deck.
Cabins
All cabins have individual climate control, wardrobes and an outside location, with windows for natural light. All have ensuites. All are ‘outside’ cabins, with windows for natural light.
Kayaks and Shore Boats
Cascadia has 6 double and 2 single kayaks for paddling in coves and bays, as well as two beautiful, custom-designed landing craft style tenders.
Other Equipment
She carries a suite of tools for exploring the natural world, including a hydrophone for listening to whales. Her library contains books on coastal history.

Cabins (Category 3)
Largest Cabins
Prince of Wales and Princess Royal, are the largest cabins available, both situated on the Bridge Deck. With 235 square feet of space, they offer a comfortable king-sized bed and a 3-piece en-suite bathroom. These cabins feature outside windows and provide convenient access to both the deck and ship interior.
Cabins (Category 2)
Mid-sized Cabins
Admiralty, Calvert, Moresby, and Vancouver, are located on the Main Deck. These cabins offer 195 square feet of space and feature either a queen-sized bed or two twin beds. Each cabin has a 3-piece en-suite bathroom and provides convenient access to both the deck and the corridor through separate doors. Windows fill the space with natural light.
Cabins (Category 1)
Smallest Cabins
Kunghit, Salt Spring, Cortes, Hanson, and Penelakut, are located on the Lower Deck, and Campania is located on the Promenade Deck. These cabins offer 160 square feet of space and feature a queen-sized bed or two twin beds. Each cabin is equipped with a 3-piece en-suite bathroom and convenient door access to the inside of the ship corridor. The cabins on the Lower Deck feature two large porthole windows, filling the space with natural light and charming ocean views.
Physical Eligibility
Mobility Requirements Aboard Cascadia
For going ashore, you need to be able to walk into our shore boats, with assistance, from the ship.
Ashore, you need to be able to get out of the shore boat on a beach with no docks. These boats are landing craft, so the bow opens down into a ramp you can walk off, with a small step down into a couple of inches of water or onto the beach, with a crew member there to assist you.
On board, there are staircases from one deck to another (indoor and outdoor). There is one cabin on Cascadia, on the main deck, with an accessible bathroom. If you have limited mobility or a chair you are welcome to speak to us about using this cabin. Due to the wild landings we do when on a trip, your ability to go ashore would be limited.
Our trips appeal to all ages; they are not for people of severely failing health or severe cognitive disabilities.
History of Cascadia
Born to be a go-anywhere expedition ship
Maple Leaf Adventures proudly introduces Cascadia, our youngest ship acquired in 2019. With her spacious and elegant design, Cascadia seamlessly complements our existing fleet while offering an entirely unique way of exploring coastal British Columbia. Cascadia embodies our high standards of engineering, safety, beauty, guest experience, and environmental responsibility.
Before joining our family, Cascadia was built specifically for boutique tours in the natural world of New Zealand and the Polynesian Islands, showcasing her go-anywhere expedition capabilities. Purchased by Maple Leaf Adventures in 2019, she crossed the globe under her own power, on one of the longest sea-journeys possible, from the southwestern Pacific to the northeastern Pacific Ocean.
Following her arrival, crew and local trades dedicated a year and a half and millions of dollars to her impressive refit in Victoria’s Inner Harbor. She was decorated with local art, giving her the feeling of a West Coast lodge. In 2021, she was equipped with new fuel-saving engines.
When tourism was halted during the pandemic, her unique combination of spaciousness and seaworthiness made her invaluable to our industry-wide marine debris clean-up. Cascadia provided important planning and logistics support, worked as an operational communications hub, and even back-up heli-lift platform in very remote areas.
Cascadia’s spacious luxury and exceptional seaworthiness make her a unique vessel perfectly suited for coastal exploration. She expands our capacity to offer personalized, small-footprint trips to remote destinations like Haida Gwaii, the Great Bear Rainforest, and Vancouver Island. Together with our expert guides, Cascadia creates remarkable journeys that immerse guests in the captivating wildlife and rich cultural experiences of British Columbia.
