Small ship cruises on the Maple Leaf
Meet the Captains - James Warburton

James Warburton

Operations Manager
James found his love of the sea early while growing up on the shores of the Queen Charlotte Islands.

With every waking moment spent on the beach as a child, it came naturally for James to start his career on the water as deckhand and later captain for a tugboat company in Prince Rupert, B.C.

James then spent two years in the role of first mate on Victoria's sail training tall ships, where he gained an intimate knowledge of Vancouver Island's world famous sailing and also had the opportunity to sail the west coast of North America to California, Mexico and Costa Rica.

In his most recent role as captain and operations manager for Maple Leaf Adventures, James is bringing his love of sailing back home to the north coast of B.C. Here, he leads Maple Leaf and her guests through some of the province's most spectacular waterways.

His intimate knowledge of these places, combined with his love of exploration, bring guests from around the world a spectacular experience of this wild and special place.
