Stephen is a world adventurer whose love of this coast has led him to call it home for several seasons each year. In 2004, he skippered a Pacific ocean crossing by sailboat, from his homeland, Australia, to Vancouver Island with his wife, Heidi Krajewsky.
Stephen has a decade of experience as a mariner in B.C. and Alaska, and is employed as captain on the Raincoast Conservation Society research vessel as well as on the Maple Leaf. In his seven seasons with Maple Leaf, Stephen has led trips coast-wide, from the Gulf Islands to Alaska. This and his work with Raincoast give him an excellent grounding in the area's natural and cultural history.
Stephen is also an accomplished sail trainer and has trained dozens of units in the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets to sail Maple Leaf.
Stephen leads expeditions for adventure tourism organizations in Antarctica and the Arctic as well as on the B.C./Alaska coast with Maple Leaf Adventures.
