Jenny is an award-winning interpreter, biologist and wilderness guide who marries her skills at performance and writing with those of scientific research. After her education at the University of Guelph, Jenny worked as an interpreter for Parks Canada, where she won Interpretation Canada's Silver Award of Excellence and the Parks Canada award for communications excellence. She has worked as a coastal bear-watching guide and has performed field work, research and writing for Raincoast Conservation Society on topics ranging from humpback whale population studies to aquaculture field work.
Jenny's enthusiasm for natural history interpretation is matched by her adventurous streak. She has completed two 50-day canoe expeditions through the Canadian arctic, including a 2005 expedition paddling the thousand-kilometre length of the massive Back River to its mouth at the Arctic Ocean. Jenny is also musical and often leads sing-alongs on board Maple Leaf.
