Keith Moore has been a resident of Haida Gwaii for 25 years. He works as a consulting environmental forester and was one of the founders of the Laskeek Bay Conservation Society in 1990. On Haida Gwaii, he was actively involved in the fight to protect the Gwaii Haanas area and continues to be actively involved in many studies of seabirds, wildlife and introduced species on the islands. He has been a naturalist on Maple Leaf for over a decade and makes our journeys here unique with his first-hand reports of the founding of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site.

As a forestry consultant, he has worked throughout BC and Canada and in several different parts of the world, including Kenya, Australia, Russia and Bangladesh. From 1995 to 2000, he was the first Chair of BC's Forest Practices Board.
