Marilyn has studied Biology and Anthropology in Victoria and worked at the Royal B.C. Museum where she was involved in sea bird surveys, waterfowl counts and small mammal inventories along the B.C. coast.
In 1995, she was part of a small group which founded Habitat Acquisition Trust, a regional conservation organization, and served as a director until 2003. Marilyn is an active board member of the Rocky Point Bird Observatory banding station on southern Vancouver Island, and serves on the board of the Friends of Ecological Reserves. She is also volunteer warden for the Oak Bay Islands Ecological Reserve, near her home in Victoria. Marilyn has organized and co-led many tours in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
As a native west-coaster, Marilyn is an avid birder, tide pool explorer and native plant enthusiast. She loves exploring the natural and human history of this amazing area and looks forward to sharing some of her favourite places with you.
