The people at Maple Leaf Adventures have been thinking about and practising what is now called “sustainable adventure travel” since 1986. Really, we want to create a living for people on this coast, sharing its beauty, thrill-potential, and stories with guests. And we want to do this while not harming … and on the contrary giving back to … the natural systems here.

We hope on this blog you can catch some of our enthusiasm for this place: perhaps you’ll like the natural history bits about whales, for example. We hope that if you want to learn about sustainable travel or ecotourism or responsible tourism, you will find something here that leaves you with more knowledge than you had when you came.
Plus, we hope the more informal nature of a blog helps convey the individuality of some of the people who are sharing their passion with you.
About Maple Leaf Adventures
————————————-
Maple Leaf Adventures is an adventure cruise company that operates natural/cultural history trips in British Columbia and Alaska. Since 1986, we have been taking small groups of guests, with expert crew, guides, naturalist and chef, to the peak areas of this, one of the planet’s last great wild places.
We travel among the islands, fjords and inland channels on the 92-foot, classic schooner Maple Leaf. We go ashore often to explore the beaches, rainforest, coastal villages, and river estuaries. Exceptional wildlife viewing, indepth cultural learning, and cameraderie are hallmarks of a trip.
They have been ranked on of the 6 “Best Travel Experiences” in Canada by Frommer’s and one of the top 5 guided trips in Canada by Explore magazine. In 2009 the editors at National Geographic Adventure magazine ranked Maple Leaf the #3 adventure cruise company on earth.
